Chapter 2: The Party and the Night of Fate

Adri and Meg were at the city mall, buying new clothes for the party and for themselves. Meg found a cute lavender dress with spaghetti straps and some matching high-heels to wear for the party. Adri, however, found a sky-blue tank top that showed off her stomach, baggy blue jeans, and a pair of sky-blue sandals. That was more of Adri’s style.

Meg looked at her best friend funny. “Adri, are you sure those clothes will be good enough for a birthday party of a multi-millionaire?”

“Meg, I don’t really care about how I look for this stupid party,” Adri answered. “I just want to buy something that Chris won’t have to notice me for.”

Adri had already gone inside the dressing rooms to put her new clothes on. Meg waited by the door.

“By the way,” Meg began to start a new subject, “any weird stuff happen to you lately?”

“Well, there is one thing,” Adri said as she put her pants on.

“Yeah? What is it?”

“I don’t know if it was a dream or not, but…”

Adri told Meg everything about the little girl that had the voice of an older woman.

After she finished the story, Meg began to laugh. “I bet that was a dream. I mean, really, a little girl who sounds older? Yeah, I’m writing that down.”

Adri laughed along. “Yeah, I guess it was. It must’ve been another weird one, too.”

By now, Adri had finished changing to her new clothes. “What do you think?” she asked.

“That outfit is totally you,” Meg answered.

Adri and Meg were at the food court, eating pepperoni and pineapple pizzas. The mall was basically their favorite hangout, along with McDonald’s.

“So, Meg,” Adri began. “Did you find a date for the party?”

“Yeah, I’m going with John,” Meg said with a confidential smile on her face.

Adri’s eyes opened wide with shock. “John, the captain of the football team?”

“Yes. What about you?”

“I asked as many as I could, but none of them were good enough.”

Meg sighed in annoyance. “Again with that whole ‘I don’t think I’ll find the man of my dreams and he won’t find me’ crap again?”

Adri glared at Meg. “It’s not crap, it’s the truth. I mean, what kind of guy would want to fall in love with a big nerd like me?”

“You’re not a nerd, Adri.”

“Yes, I am, Meg. I go on the computer a lot, I get straight As in school, and I completely don’t have a life planned ahead of me.”

“Chris is attrac—”

“Chris only likes me for my looks. Plus, he’s a womanizer, meaning he goes for every pretty woman. So, I’m not the only one he likes.”

“Alright, alright. You have a point there.”

Right now, they were done eating their pizzas and were headed somewhere to find a present for Chris.

“What do you think Chris would want?” Adri asked.

“Well, he would probably want a new motorcycle,” Meg guessed.

“But I don’t have the money to buy one.”

“Don’t worry. Leave the motorcycle to me.”

“Alright, then. I guess I could just give him a watch.”

“Okay, I’ll go to that new motorcycle shop. You go to the jewelry store. Okay, Adri?”

“You got it!”

Adri and Meg went there separate ways to buy Chris a present.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Adri entered the jewelry store with a stubborn look on her face. She looked around the shop, seeing if there were any good watches around.

“Hey, why the long face, Adri?” a voice asked worryingly, causing Adri jump a little.

It happened to be Shauna, Adri’s friend from her science class. Shauna was the clerk of the shop and a science genius.

Adri lost all of her stubbornness and gained happiness. “Hey, Shauna!” she exclaimed as she approached the glass case where all the watches, diamond rings, and bracelets were kept safe and where Shauna was standing behind. “It’s nothing, really. I was just seeing if you got any good watches around.”

“Why, is there a special someone that you wanna give it to?” Shauna asked, giving Adri a sneaky glare.

“No, I was just invited to a birthday party and I wanna buy a good present for the host.”

“Who’s the host?”

Adri paused for a second. Shauna knew that she didn’t like Chris at all, but if she told her that the host was Chris, then she might get the wrong idea. “I…can’t tell you that,” she decided to say.

“Why?”

“Because I just don’t want to.”

“Okay then,” Shauna said, confused. “Pick any watch, and I’ll wrap it up for you.”

“Hmmm…” Adri looked at the watches inside the glass case. Then, she came across a silver one, which looked so sparkly and beautiful to her. Luckily, it was only $200.00 half-price. Adri pointed to that watch. “I’ll take that one.”

“What a good choice!” Shauna exclaimed. “That’s one of our popular watches.”

The young clerk opened up the glass case, took out the silver watch, and closed the case again. She put it in a box and tied a bow around it to keep the box closed. Adri took out her glittery-white wallet, which had $500.00 in it, and took out $200.00 to pay for the watch.

After paying, Adri left the shop, waving a “bye” to her friend.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Meg arrived at the motorcycle shop. She looked around the shop, where a lot of motorcycles were hung. She expected the clerk to be one of her friends, but it happened to be another persacom.

She went down every aisle to see which motorcycle Chris would want, when she came across one that was black with flames on it. This was the motorcycle Chris wanted so much. Even though he was a multi-millionaire, he didn’t have much on his own allowance and he never asked his parents if they could buy one for him.

The cheerleader looked at the price. $600.00 was all it said on the tag. ‘Damn!’ she thought angrily to herself. ‘That means if I buy this, I won’t have anymore money on my allowance.’

Meg was about to turn away, but then froze. She kept thinking to herself. She didn’t like Chris much, but if she bought a motorcycle that didn’t sparkle his interest, he would possibly be a bit upset and might do something mean to her.

After two minutes of thinking, she decided to buy the motorcycle, risking all of her money on her allowance. After she paid the persacom clerk, she wrapped the motorcycle in a bow and called for one of her persacoms to come and pick up the motorcycle to her house and wait for her to take it to the party between 7:30 and 8:00 P.M.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
It was now 7:58 P.M., either two more minutes until the party, or it started much earlier. Either way, Adri and Meg arrived at Chris’s mansion. Boy, did it look fantastic! The mansion was so enormous that a whole building of people could fit in it. That mansion almost looked like the White House, except it was more in a reddish purple color.

The two friends walked up to the large front doors and rang the doorbell a couple of times. After a few seconds of waiting, Chris opened the door with a bunch of girls massaging his shoulders. He looked like he was going to get married, for he wore a white tuxedo with a black bowtie on his neck.

When he noticed that it was Adri and Meg at the door, he told the girls that were massaging him to leave for a second. “Well, hello, Adri. You look nice. But don’t worry, you’re not the only one who’s wearing jeans here.”

‘Dammit!’ Adri thought angrily to herself. ‘I only wanted to wear this so that he wouldn’t find me attractive and leave me alone.’

Adri put on her infamous fake smile again and gave Chris the box, which had the silver watch inside. “Happy 16th birthday, Chris.”

Chris took the box and opened it (A/N: I know, in birthday parties, people would wait until later to open their presents, but come on! I don’t even like that tradition anymore.). When he saw the watch, he observed it to see if it was real silver or imitation.

After finding out it was real, he put it on his wrist and smiled at Adri. “That was thoughtful of you.”

Then, he saw Meg leaning on the motorcycle she bought. When he saw that it was the motorcycle he wanted, his eyes opened wide with surprise. “Whoa!” he exclaimed. “How’d you—”

“Had to risk my allowance to buy this baby,” Meg interrupted. “I hope it was worth it.”

“It sure was,” he said happily. Then, he turned to the staircase. “Ramona!” he called out.

Then, a persacom dressed like a maid appeared.

“Take this motorcycle into to the garage, without making any scratches,” he ordered.

“Yes, young master,” the persacom bowed and took the motorcycle.

“Well,” he said to the two friends, “come on inside.”

Adri and Meg walked inside the mansion. It looked like it was some party club inside. There were disco rays, a large 10x20 light-up dance floor, a buffet with a lot of good food and drinks, large speakers playing music at full blast, and a DJ scratching the record players.

“See? What did I tell ya?” Meg whispered to Adri. “You can have all this fun as long as you ignore Chris.”

“I gotta say, Meg, you’re right,” Adri agreed. “Now, if you excuse me, I’m gonna go get a drink.”

Adri walked over to the buffet and grabbed a full bottle of beer. Whenever it came to parties, the first thing she’ll do is get wasted and if she’s really drunk, she’ll go to the dance floor and start to dance wildly. That’s what she always did and it never changed at all.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Adri had finished drinking the whole bottle of beer. She was so drunk that she would do something crazy by now. She looked at the clock. 9:30 P.M. She had been drinking for an hour and a half.

Meg walked up to her to see if she was okay. “Hey, Adri, how’re you feeling?”

“Whaaa aaare yoo taalkiin’ abouu?” she asked.

“Okay, never mind. You’re too drunk to talk to.”

Then, another song was put in. (A/N: Hey, does anyone know a good song that can play in the 22nd century? I can’t think of anything. :p) When Adri heard the song, she automatically perked up, for that was one of her favorite songs. She walked to the dance floor and began to dance like a wild animal. She was shaking her ass like there was no tomorrow and did some break dancing moves, which she was always good at when she was drunk, that got everyone to center around her. No one would’ve thought that Adri, the biggest nerd in school, could dance so well.

Chris, who was flirting with some cheerleaders, saw what was going on and decided to join in the dance circle. There, he and Adri, whom lost all her entertainment when he joined in, danced like they’ve never danced before. Everyone was cheering the two on and the DJ mixed like crazy. Some of the cheerleaders got jealous and started saying stuff to each other like, “Where did that loser get to dance so well,” “Oh, come on, Chris, she’s trying to get you to like her and not us,” and “Why does Chris have to go for a nerd like her?” But no one paid attention to them. They had all of their focus on the two people dancing in the center of the dance floor.

After the song was over, everyone gave a loud roar of cheering.

“Where’d you get to dance like that?” Chris asked.

“I dunno,” Adri answered, now a little drunk. “I believe it’s a thing called ‘skill’.”

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
It was 11:57 P.M. now. A slow dance song was playing. Adri was dancing with Chris, which she wasn’t too proud of, as always. Basically, she didn’t have an option because Chris already pulled her to the dance floor and held her way too close to him. Adri had no other choice but to play along.

Chris had been twirling around slowly, doing some other slow dance moves that can win a girl’s heart (just not Adri’s).

After two minutes of doing romantic moves, Chris looked deep into Adri’s eyes lustfully. Then, he leaned closer to her, trying to kiss her. Adri, however, kept pushing back from him. She tried to grab a fish, but to no avail. So, she decided to prepare for the worst and kiss the one she really despises, when all of a sudden …

The clock rang twelve times when it struck midnight, causing the music to stop and everyone to stare at it.

Chris had already let go of Adri and looked confused. “That’s weird. That clock hasn’t rang in ages.”

Then, Adri gasped and remembered what the little girl said the other night.

“If you go to the party tomorrow,” she continued, still with the older voice, “you must be careful, for you will meet your destiny when the clock strikes midnight.”

‘Is this the start of what she meant?’ Adri thought.

Suddenly, she saw that her shadow was getting bigger. But when she turned around, it wasn’t her shadow at all, for there was a black monster at the height of six feet, with glowing yellow eyes and a pair of long, bug-like antennas.

The monster raised its sharp claw and aimed at Chris. Adri gasped in terror. “Chris! Look out!”

To that, Chris turned around and saw the monster. He was about to escape, but he was too late. The monster stuck its claw into his chest. Everyone watched in terror as the monster released its claw and took out something that looked like a heart, not the organ type, but something like a heart one can see on Valentine’s Day. Then, Chris’s body morphed into another monster.

Suddenly, more of the black monsters appeared in the room. Everyone began to scream and escape from the mansion. Adri tried to catch up with the ones running, when all of a sudden, one of the monsters grabbed her ankle, causing her to trip and cut her lip. She tried to get away by fighting back, but the monster was too strong. Then, all the other monsters joined up and began to swallow her into darkness.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Adri could see nothing…nothing but darkness. She was frozen in place.

“Wh-where am I?” she said to herself. “I can’t see anything. It’s pitch black.”

Then, all of a sudden, she saw a figure of a young man with very long hair. She couldn’t tell what his face or what his whole image looked like. He was very blurry for the fact of matter. But he was the only glimmer of light that Adri could see.

She was face-to-face (literally) with the glowing image. Adri could’ve seen that he was probably a rather handsome man. Though, she was frightened that maybe he was going to kill her or something.

But he didn’t. Instead, he harmlessly caressed her cheek. Adri closed her eyes to feel the figure’s hand on her face. The feeling of his hand to her cheek was very warm to the teenager. When she opened her eyes, she felt like the feeling was so familiar to her and that she might’ve known this man ever since.

Then, (A/N: I say “then” too many times, huh? Hey, it’s not my fault I can’t think of anything else to say:p) the figure disappeared and a light began to sparkle very bright., almost blinding the young heroine’s eyes.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Adri was out of the darkness and back at the mansion. But something was different. Adri seemed to have been holding something in her right hand. She saw what it was: a large key in an aqua color with a handle that had angel wings on each side. At the end, crystals that were sharp enough to pierce through flesh stuck out as a blade. For the key chain, there was a small figure of a gem.

“What is this thing?’” Adri asked to herself as she looked at her fierce new weapon in wonder. “Well, whatever this is, I should use this to fight off those monsters.”

Adri was about to leave the mansion, when four of the monsters blocked the exit. They were about to do what they did to Chris, but Adri defended herself at first. After that, she slashed at the monsters a couple of times, realizing that it takes more than one hit to destroy them.

Once they were defeated, Adri ran outside to see what was going on. Another terrible storm was going on, but it was much worse than the one that happened the other night. It was much worse than a hurricane. Winds were blowing at a very powerful speed. Rain poured so hard, it felt like a hailstorm. Thunder and lighting clashed everywhere. Houses, trees, roads, everything was being sucked up into something. Was it a very strong tornado? A black hole?

No, it was much worse. Everything was being sucked into a dark sphere, where the monsters appeared from.

Adri was going to go somewhere for shelter, but more monsters appeared. She tried to fight them again, but one of them disappeared and appeared behind her. Then, the monster behind her dug its claw into Adri’s shoulder. When she felt the pain, she slashed at the monster before anything else happened. When she was through with it, the rest of the monsters disappeared. Blood was gushing out of her shoulder. She put her hand on her wound, collecting some blood on her hand. Her sight became blurry, her breath was all wheezy. Suddenly, she lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Ten minutes have passed and Adri finally gained back her consciousness. But then she saw that she was a foot away from the dark sphere. She turned around and saw that she was about 100 feet away from the earth’s surface. She jumped back and let out a very loud scream. When she did jump back, her shoulder was in fierce pain. She looked at it to see what the problem was only to find blood still gushing out. Suddenly, she saw that her shadow enlarged again. She turned around again to see if there was another monster standing behind her.

And she was right, but she never expected that the monster behind her was an enormous black giant the size of the Empire State Building! Adri could only identify the color of its glowing yellow eyes, but not the rest of its face, for the rest was covered by its tangled hair. But with the its muscular arms and legs and its clawed hand, Adri could tell that this monster was not a friendly one at all. She could also tell it wasn’t for the fact that there was a large, heart-shaped hole going through its chest.

The monster looked down at Adri with a hint of evil in its glowing eyes. Then, it knelt to the ground and stuck its chest out. Adri didn’t know what to do at all, but just stare at the giant black monster with fear. Suddenly, a glowing orb appeared on the monster’s empty chest. The teenaged girl didn’t know what was going on, until three small spheres shot out of the orb and headed straight towards the young heroine. When she saw this, she quickly ran from them, but to no avail. All three had hit her violently. What a surprise to see that the spheres were actually more damaging then anyone would have thought. Now, Adri’s back was as bloody as her shoulder. She thought that the monster wouldn’t shoot anymore of those spheres, but she was wrong. Three more shot out. Adri ran again. This time, she hid behind the monster and the spheres hit the ground instead.

When three more shot out, Adri took out her large key. ‘You can do this, Adri,’ she told herself. ‘You just need to ignore the pain on your shoulder and back and try to destroy this monster.’

Once the monster got back up from the ground, Adri ran in front of it. A force was encircling the monster’s right claw. Then, it slammed its claw to the ground and another force was made in the ground. Adri planned to climb up the giant’s arm up to its head and keep slashing the head until her opponent gives up.

So, she ran to its claw on the ground and began climbing. But she didn’t suspect that more of the six-foot-tall black monsters would come out of the black force and try to stop her from getting to the head. One of them grabbed her ankle and tried to yank her off and back into darkness. The others kept slashing her with their sharp claws to make her strength decrease like the last time. But Adri didn’t give up. She instantly shook the monster that was yanking on her ankle off and slashed at the other monsters that attacked her.

She continued to climb to the head. By now, the giant got up again. It took a while before Adri finally made it to the top. But now the monster was on the ground again. It slammed its left claw to the ground. Another force encircled the claw. Adri didn’t have time to stare at what was happening, so she began to slash at the head as planned. Black liquid spurred out every time she slashed at it, like blood. Suddenly, something hit her injured back. She looked up and saw more dark orbs coming out of the sky. Some were after her. But Adri still didn’t give up. She jammed her weapon into the side of the giant’s head. Then, the monster fell to the ground, this time in defeat. After that, Adri took the key out of the head and jumped to the ground.

“That oughtta teach you to mess with me, you giant son of a bitch!” Adri taunted.

She was about to jump off the battle circle, but then she realized something. The dark sphere had gotten much stronger. The remains of the black giant were sucked into it. Everything was being sucked into the sphere. Adri’s use of gravity decreased as she grabbed onto the ground to prevent being sucked up as well. But that didn’t work at all. Her hands slipped from the ground and she was about to submit into the sphere.

That was, until someone grabbed her arm and stopped her. Adri looked at who was grabbing her, thinking it was another monster. But yet again, she was wrong. It was the little girl she saved from the storm the other night.

Adri was in shock to actually see her again. “It’s you!”

Then, Adri gained back gravity as if she was resisting the urge to submit into the sphere.

After that, the little girl took out a small, star-colored talisman and held it a few inches away from her. “You’re destiny,” she said with her older voice, “begins here.”

Suddenly, the ground opened up, revealing a tunnel of light. Adri’s gravity increased more as she fell into the tunnel. Once she fell a few feet down, the ground closed up and the strange little girl disappeared. Adri did nothing but let her body fall into the mystical shining light.
This is chapter 2 to Dimension Warrior. Enjoy!

The persacoms, the Heartless, and the little girl does not belong to me. I did not invent the Keyblade. I made up the one Adri uses. This story and most characters are the only ones I own
